To ensure that everyone’s chromebook continues to work to the best of its ability it’s time to do a health check.
First, please make sure that your Chrome browser is updated.
To do this go to Settings> About Chrome OS> and then check to see if your Operating System (OS) is updated or check for update.
For a more detailed instructions on how to check if is up to date please click here.
If your Chromebook is still running slowly you should make sure that
You don’t have more than 10 tabs open at a time. If you need to save your tabs please look at the extension called One Tab. Whenever you find yourself with too many tabs, click the OneTab icon to convert all of your tabs into a list. When you need to access the tabs again, you can either restore them individually or all at once. When your tabs are in the OneTab list, you will save up to 95% of memory because you will have reduced the number of tabs open in Google Chrome.
You don’t have too many extensions. Extensions are little programs. If you have too many of them active on your chromebook they could be taking up precious memory on your device. If you want to deactivate or delete some of your extensions but don’t know how, click here for directions.
