HOW DOES SWIVL WORK?
The Swivl Robot connects to your iOS device via the Swivl lightning cable, or by Swivl micro USB if you are using an Android device. This will allow the red button on the marker to start and stop recording when using the Swivl app. The Swivl Robot then follows an infrared signal on the Marker. You should maintain a direct line of sight between the robot and the Marker, and recommend using a table or floor stand to help.
The Marker contains a microphone which allows you to capture high quality audio at a distance, as you teach or present. (The audio settings can be checked within the Swivl app.)
Once you have captured video to the Swivl app, it can then be uploaded to your Swivl cloud account, where you can view, share, and interact with your content.

SWIVL GEN2 ROBOT SETUP
To set up your Swivl Robot, follow the steps below:
-
Turn on the Swivl robot by pressing the power button until the LED lights are illuminated.
-
Next, pair your mobile device with the robot. To do this, press and hold the sync button until the LED light flashes red.
-
Navigate to the Bluetooth settings on your mobile device and connect with Swivl.
-
The LED light should now green, which indicates that the base is connected to your mobile device.
-
Lift the back flap on the base of the robot and find your marker. Turn on the marker by holding down the power button for 3-4 seconds. The LED lights on both the marker and base should now all be green.
-
Finally, launch the Swivl app and insert your mobile device into the Swivl Robot with the screen forward in landscape format. Be sure to connect the audio cable from your Swivl robot to your mobile device.

LINE OF SIGHT
The Swivl base will follow the movement of the marker using an infrared signal. For best results, the marker must maintain a relatively direct line of sight with the Swivl base and we recommend using a table or floor stand. The marker will function at a range of 3-30 feet from the base, but a distance of 5-20 feet is preferred.
We recommend that you practice moving around a room using the infrared signal. You may notice that the infrared signal may even reflect off of smooth, shiny surfaces or become blocked by a loose sweater or tie.

CHARGING AND BATTERY LIFE
The Swivl C Series base and marker are both powered by built-in rechargeable batteries.
Charging the Swivl base:
To charge the Swivl base, plug the wall charger into an outlet. Then plug the USB-side of the base charger into one of the USB outlets on the wall charger. Plug the other end of the base charger into the small circular outlet near the bottom of the base.
Charging the Swivl marker:
There are two ways to charge the marker:
- Placing the marker in the back dock of the Swivl base.
- Plugging the marker charging cable into the wall charger and into the 3.5mm jack on the side of the marker.
Battery Life:
The Swivl C Series has a battery life of 5-6 hours under normal use cases.
When the Swivl Robot is fully set up with a compatible mobile device, you can check the percentage of battery left on either the base or marker from within the Swivl app settings.
